Unless you have been living on somee other planet, you would well know that CES kicked off few hours ago at Vegas. CES is the mother of all the electronics shows where plenty of devices which do not get to reach main stream audience are showcased. It the single biggest fare for showing of various innovative products starting from phones to tablets, cameras TV’s etc. One of the biggest announcements coming so far from CES 2012 apart from the Project Shield by Nvidia is the fact that Acer has finally moved into Tablet market.
Acer have announced Iconia B1, a 7 inch tablet aimed primarily at competing with the likes of Google Nexus and other low budget tablets. The tablet would set you back by only $149 which is a very effective price on the device. There have also been reports that the tablet could be available at a promotional rate of only $99 which is absolutely gob smacking. The tablet has fairly low end specs too as per the price of the device. It features a dual core processor 1.2 GHz processor. The 7 inch display has a resolution of 1024 x 768 and has 512 MB of RAM on board. The tablet will run Jelly Bean out of the box. The tablet is said to have not really performed too well, and is said to have poor viewing angles and lots of performance lags. The device is said to be coming to South Asia first and follow up with Europe later on. The price in India is said to be around Rs. 7,999 which would put it right against the likes of Micromax Funbook.
