In a move that is sure to turn heads and make people jump with happiness, Microsoft has decided to bring it’s hugely popular series of games starting with Age of Empires to mobile devices starting this very year. And what is even more surprising is that these games are not slated to be exclusive to Windows Phone which is Microsoft’s own Mobile OS as the games would be releasing on vastly popular Android and iOS. Microsoft is collaborating with KLab in Japan who will be making the titles for Android and iOS.
This is not the first time though as in the past year Microsoft has ported a title to iOS, they had done something similar with Kinectimals too. Microsoft has also bought the Xbox Live app to Android which shows the intensions of Microsoft as far as bringing their game series to mobile platform is concerned. Funnily, there is no rumour of Age of Empires coming on Windows Phone but eventually you have to believe it will happen too especially as Halo was announced for Windows Phone earlier in the year too.
A Microsoft inside told The Verge that “some reports included incorrect information about additional Xbox Live-based games on iOS and Android but there are no further announcements beyond Age of Empires at this time.”
So basically we have to wait a while before games other than Age of Empires come out.
