Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Starts to Rollout for Nexus Devices

As expected last month, Google has started rolling out the update to Android 6.0.1 version for the Nexus devices. The update is rolling out for phones like Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5 and tablets like Nexus 7 and Nexus 9. While not a whole lot is known about the update and what new it is bringing, one thing for absolute certainty is that there are new emojis to play with in the latest update. The likes of chmpagne bottle and middle finger have been added. Not just this, new animated emoji stickers too are a part of this update.

Needless to say, that the update would definitely bring some performance enhancement and fix the bugs that plagued the Nexus phones previously, though it is not clear if the promised monthly security patch that Google has promised on the Nexus phones or can we expect another security patch coming along?

Edit: We can confirm that Google has included the security patch in the update itself, so you can be sure that your device has already been made secure.

The update, as always is rolling out in phases, though if you do not like the wait, you can go ahead and download the factory images for Android 6.0.1 that Google has made available on the develepor’s website. This update would take the build number of your phone to build MMB29K.
