Apple is set to announce the much hyped iPhone 6 in the US on September 9th if the report by John Paczkowski of Re/Code is to go by. Re/Code which has industry experts like Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg on board are usually on the cue when it comes to this information and we have good reasons to believe them given their past record and the fact that they do attract Apple CEOs to their conferences.
The iPhone 6 is expected to come with a larger 4.7 inch display which would be exclusively made out of Sapphire and have a slimmer and a more round profile than the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. The new iPhone is expected to bring the same Retina display that we have seen on the older iPhones. The new iPhones will come with iOS 8 out of the box and will obviously feature a higher resolution iSight and a faster A8 chipset.
There are also rumors of a slightly larger phablet kind of an iPhone with a 5.5 inch display which could well be launched with the new iPhone. There is no official media invite or word from Apple about the device just yet, though given the news is out in the open now, you can expect it to be in the headlines very soon. According to the same report, the reason behind the September 9th launch is said to be astrological.
