Apple Working on Lower priced 8GB iPhone 4

Apple iPhone 4 is a hot selling product these days and to reach a wider customer base in the Asian market, Asian suppliers to Apple Inc to begin manufacturing a lower-priced version of its iPhone 4 with a smaller 8GB flash drive. The smaller 8GB flash drive is being manufactured by a Korean company. Also it is widely reported that Apple is launching it’s next generation iPhone (iPhone 5) in October.

The iPhone 4 was first launched in June 2010 having 16GB and 32GB variants. The 8GB variant will be Apple’s push into the emerging markets where consumers want to switch to low-to-mid-end smart phones from high-end feature phones. Speaking about the budget iPhone 4, Channing Smith, Co-Manager of the Capital Advisors Growth Fund, which owns Apple shares said, “A lower-priced version of iPhone 4 seems to be a necessary evil at this point in the iPhone adoption cycle, especially in emerging markets where the average income of individuals is much lower.”

According to reports by iClarified, the lower priced iPhone 4 (might be called as iPhone 4S) may has a bigger screen, better antenna and an 8-megapixel camera.

The launch of this version of the iPhone will give stiff competition to the likes of Nokia who have a wide customer base in these markets. So how many of you will buy the low-priced iPhone ? Mention in the comments below.
