Asus Transformer Prime is Releasing on December 19th

If you’re planning to buy an Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, we have some good news for you. After some earlier rumors that the much awaited tablet will be delayed and won’t be launching in the holiday season due to some Wi-Fi and hardware problems Asus have made clear that the tablet will go on sale as scheduled (from December 19th ) and there are no Wi-Fi problems with the tablet. Earlier rumors suggested that the tablet is delayed till 2012.

This is what Asus said to Android community:

We are trying to confirm who released this statement and for what purpose right now. At this point, we still show to be on schedule to start shipments the week of 12/19. I will provide an update once I have additional information.

The above statement clearly suggests that everything is on track and the company is looking forward for a holiday season launch. Asus are still tracking down why an online retailer delayed the device. Holiday season is coming up and Asus will definitely love to cash in and sell some units and Transformer Prime is the only Tegra-3 tablet available in the market and is the best tablet when it comes to specs. The transformers prime packs a 1.4 GHz quad core processor.

The Pre-orders of Transformer prime have already been sold out and a lot of analysts are looking this tablet as real competition for iPad-2. Although the Transformer prime will be released with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, it is expected to be updated to the latest version of Android i.e. Android 4.0 by the end of January.
