If you are Windows 8 user, you are definitely surprised with the behavior of Google Chrome browser. In Windows 8, Google Chrome runs differently, as a Windows 8 app. When you click on Chrome icon on Windows 8, it will launch an app, but you won’t get taskbar, maximize, minimize and close buttons on Chrome. So if you want to close the browser you have to use keyboard shortcuts (Alt +F4).
Also, if you want to open incognito mode, you can open it via shortcut key (Ctrl+Shift+N), but you won’t find switching option to switch between incognito mode and normal mode. On Chrome, you’ll find an icon at the top right corner, clicking on this icon will let you switch between two modes in Chrome.
Chrome Desktop Mode
Here’s how you can easily switch to Chrome desktop mode from Windows 8 app mode and use your browser same like you use in Windows 7 OS.
Click on the Chrome menu button .
Now click on Relaunch Chrome on the desktop.
Immediately Chrome will relaunch in desktop mode and you’ll get taskbar and all the buttons back. Easy, isn’t it.
That’s how you can easily switch between desktop mode and Windows 8 app mode in your Windows 8 computer.
In a claim that should be no surprise, Samsung has announced it has already sold over 6 Millions Galaxy S IV devices. Thanks to little competition with HTC One not available globally and strong marketing campaign coupled with already a strong foothold in the market, S IV has once again been a run away success. Plenty of tech experts claimed that this could be the year when Samsung’s dominance would be questioned with HTC finally producing the device which turned plenty of heads, but seems like their inability to throw the HTC One in the playing arena is already beginning to cost them.
According to a Samsung Executive, reports Chosun Ilbo, a Korean newspaper, that Samsung had sold about 4 million Galaxy S IV between April 26th and April 30th. This figure stands at massive 6 million as of May 10th. Although these figures may not be accurate to the point of number of Galaxy S IV bought by the customers, as they simply tell the units which were shipped to the carriers and retail partners, but it does affirm the strong demand of the device. The device has been available in most parts of Europe, Asia and America from the last week of April.
It is also expected that the sales figures will hit the sweet 10 million mark at the end of May confirming the device we already knew to be a blockbuster hit.

Call it a desperate attempt to stay in the game or simply a masterstroke, BlackBerry announced yesterday in their BlackBerry Live event at Florida that it is set to roll out the popular BlackBerry service, BBM or BlackBerry Messenger multi platform to the likes of Android and iOS this summer. So far BBM was a BlackBerry exclusive and one of the few features apart from enterprise mailing solutions that really attracted people towards buying a BlackBerry. With the service rolling out for free on Android and iOS you must wonder now why would anybody pick a BlackBerry device given the ecosystem lags behind a fair bit as compared to the big players that are iOS and Android.
Addressing a very enthusiastic gathering, Thorsten Heins, CEO of BlackBerry announced that:
“It’s time to bring BBM to a greater audience, no matter what mobile device they carry. We’re starting with messaging and groups, but we’ll bring voice, screen share, and of course, channels later on”
Although, in a way this move would keep BlackBerry as a brand alive, since there is no better IM for smart phones when compared to BBM, we do wonder if gradually BlackBerry is losing it’s USP. The biggest loser in this announcement would perhaps be Whatsapp because so far it was the preferred choice of IM client for cross platform communication, but with BBM coming soon, you can bet plenty of people will jump on the bandwagon. Whatever it is, in the end it is a victory for Android and iOS users as they will be getting one of the best services in the business for messaging and keeping in touch and that surely is good news.

After days of speculation, Nokia has finally lifted the grand sheet off the all Aluminum Lumia and have named it Nokia Lumia 925. As expected the device is made entirely out of Aluminum unibody instead of the polycarbonate material that Nokia has gone with most of it’s other high end Nokia Lumia devices. The device is also slimmed down as compared to the Lumia 920 weighing only 139 grams as compared to 185 grams. The Verge have called it ‘ A Lumia on a Diet’.
This loss in weight comes at the cost that Lumia 925 does not support Wireless Charging out of the box like the 920 variant. You have to apply a charging jacket for that similar to one on the Lumia 820. Apart from the externals, the internals remain pretty much the same as the Lumia 920. The device will ship in June with the same 4.5 inch OLED display with 1280 x 768 and 1 GB RAM like Lumia 920. The Lumia 925 will be available in 16 GB or 32 GB variant depending upon the carrier you pick it.
There is a brand new optional default Camera application on Lumia 925 called the Smart Camera Mode. It works similarly to how various Lens work on Lumia range of devices. It alters the Camera UI on the device and allows users to take upto 10 images with new motion focus. The device no doubt will be marketed with it’s Imaging taking capabilities, but we would perhaps have liked the Xenon flash like that on Lumia 928. Unlike the other Lumia models, the 925 would be available only in grey or black metallic colors. The Lumia 925 will set you back by 469 Euros in Europe if you want an unlocked device.
