Right since the Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy S smartphone has been the most anticipated launches of the year. It is not wrong to state that the barometer of comparison really lies with the latest Galaxy smartphone against which all the other devices and their capabilities are measured which are launched throughout the year. Last year, the Galaxy S5 was a bit of a disappointment, and perhaps the least sold out of the entire flagship range of the Samsung Galaxy device. It is imperative that Samsung makes amends this year.
The first leaked out image of the Samsung Galaxy S6 shows the device bearing a stark resemblance to the iPhone 6 that was recently launched. Another interesting observation is that the new Galaxy S6 has a more rounded and raised home button fueling the speculations that the device will come with an improved fingerprint sensor whereby you can simply log into the device by placing your finger rather than swiping it across the button. The front facing camera and the sensors have been moved to the right of the speaker grille from the left. The headset jack too is at the bottom now and the volume rockers are a single switch set rather than two buttons. The phone will feature a 5 inch display with a Quad HD resolution and bear the model number SM-G920A.
In terms of other specifications, the S6 will have an Exynos 7420 SoC with 3 GB of RAM and a 20 MP camera. The device is expected to be announced at MWC in Barcelona during the first week of March.
