Chinese OEM Gionee Smartphones, have announced their latest flagship device in an event held in Beijing in the form of the Gionee Elife E8. The E8 succeeds, our favorite smartphone to come from Gionee, which was the Elife E7 and the device while bearing absolutely no resemblance to its predecessor, has similar genes.
The Elife E8 comes with a ginormous 24 MP camera sensor on the back that is capable of shooting a mammoth 120 MP pictures thanks to picture stitching. The front camera of the device is a 8 MP sensor confirming that the Elife E8 is indeed the new king of photography at least, as far as the numbers go. Given how well the E7 performed, we are pretty excited to check out the E8 and its camera.
In terms of other specs, the phone brings a 6 inch 2K display with a Super AMOLED panel, there is a biometric sensor at the back of the device, while the chipset powering the device is a MTK6795 Octa Core processor that we have seen in the likes of HTC M9+ recently. The internal memory on the device is 64 GB and you do have an option of expansion, thanks to the Micro SD slot in there. The SIM configuration is a a Dual SIM LTE one making sure that the phone is future ready. The battery here is 3520 mAh with fast charging. You do have NFC On board, and the RAM is 3 GB. In terms of the software, the device comes with Android 5.1 out of the box with Amigo on top of it.
The Elife E8 will be priced at 3999 RMB, though there is no clarity on the global availability.
