Gionee has been in news in the recent past for a variety of reasons. In India, they recently came out with the Elife E8 which was a Snapdeal exclusive and followed that up with the launch of the Gionee S Plus. In between the two there was some spotlight on the Gionee F103, which is the first device in their Make in India initiative. And just when you thought Gionee has done enough to stay in news, there is more coming your way. It is expected that today, 16th November, Gionee would announce the Elife S6, their next flagship in the S series. The S series has been the house of stylish and slim phones for Gionee and of the leaked shots are to go by, the S6 is no different.
The S6 is expected to come with a 5.5 inch 1080 P Super AMOLED panel and is powered by the Mediatek MTK 6753 SoC. It is rumored that the phone will be available in two different variants, a 16 GB unit with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB version with 3 GB of RAM. The phone supports LTE and has a 3150 mAh battery out of the box. The rear camera is 13 MP and the phone will come with Android 5.1 out of the box.
The pictured variant looks like the golden one, so you can expect the phone to be available in a fair few color choices too. Unlike the other phones in the S series, the S6 is not going to set the ramp on fire with its slimness, thanks to a slightly thicker frame at 6.9 mm. It is expected that the phone will be priced at 1799 Yuan.
