In their bid to spread the wings out far and wide, Gionee Global has sent across an invite to the international media for the launch of their next flagship device. The device would be called the S7 if the invite is to go by and would be announced in Barcelona on March 2nd. if the monikers are to go by, the S7 will be in the Slim series followed by the S5.5 and S5.1, though we really doubt that the name S7 will signify 7 mm of thickness given the exploits earlier.
The device has already been leaked out a fair bit in China by GforGames and that shows a profile that is definitely not 7 mm thick. You also have two parallel metal trim strips running on the outside of the device with the buttons flushed right in between.
Other than that the screens in the leaks show the device running Android 5.0 Lollipop with On Screen buttons which is a first for any of the Gionee devices.
There are no camera bumps on the back either and you have a flat back which looks like a glass type back in the pictures. There is no word on the final pricing or the specifications of the device and looks like we will all have to wait for March 2nd to know more details of the S7.
