Google’s acquisition of Motorola has pretty much gone under the carpets since it was completed. We have not heard much about the strategies of the two companies or probably a Motorola manufactured Nexus device which many of the tech experts had predicted. We all though that now with an OEM in home, all the Nexus devices would be made by Motorola. however, apart from the Razr i and Razr HD there havent been any major Motorola devices worth mentioning.
Yet, it seems like things in the pipeline at least are exciting the CEO of Google, Larry Page. This should be a no brain-er because a CEO is supposed to like what his companies do, but there had been reports earlier that maybe Google was not all that impressed with the sort of work Motorola was doing. Larry Page said the following at the First Quarter Earning Call on Thursday:
“Think about your device. Battery life is a challenge for most people. You shouldn’t need to carry around a charger to make it through the day. If your kid spills their drink on your tablet, the screen shouldn’t die. And when you drop your phone, it shouldn’t shatter.
Having just seen Motorola’s upcoming products myself, I’m real excited about the potential there. In just under a year, they have accomplished a lot, and have impressive velocity and execution.”
So it does seem like the next range of devices of Motorola would have a huge battery backup, something just about every smart phone user is crying out for. In fact the Razr Maxx till date remains one of the best devices on the market, simply for this reason. No wonder, this bit of news has got us excited for the upcoming Motorola devices too.
