Google Releases Movies on Google Play in India

It seems like Google is finally rolling out its best services for its users in India. We first saw the release of Google Books, then the first Nexus device and yesterday Google released Google Movies in India. Though according to the popular joke on Twitter, users were not really able to stream lot of content since Google decided to launch movies in India towards the end of the month, time when most of the people are struggling with bandwidth.

However, this is another positive move as far as Indian market is considered. there were plenty of services that were not available in India, and we do hope other services such as Google Music and other Nexus devices such as the Nexus 10 and Nexus 4 would soon be available too.

As far as pricing goes, the movies are priced extremely competitively. For a movie that normally costed about $17 in the US is priced at around Rs. 450 which is $9, hence Google has definitely made things very affordable. the starting price though seems to be around Rs. 100 or $2 which is for older films. The movies can be purchased with your credit card that you have linked to your Play Store while buying applications. You can also officially download the Movies app from here to directly shop and stream the movies to your Android device regardless of the OEM.
