How to Callibrate the Ambient Sensor on the iPhone running iOS 7.1

iOS 7.1 has bought several improvements in the iPhone especially the iPhone 5s by fixing up the constant issue with Touch ID where it did not respond to the touch as well as it did just days after registering it new and the White Screen of death which lead to random phone reboots. There are also some neat features in the accessibility section of iOS 7 which make iOS 7.1 a must have if you have a device on iOS 7.

iOS 7- Auto Brightness

However, one issue we have been facing since we updated to iOS 7.1 has been that the ambient sensor just does not seem to work as well as it did before the update. This seems an issue with pretty much every incremental update and this may require you to re-calibrate the sensor. To do so, simply follow the steps below:

Step 1: Turn Auto Brightness off on your device.

Step 2: Take the device to a very dark room, as dark as you can find and turn the brightness down to lowest.

Step 3: Once you have done that, go ahead and take the device to a very bright sunny room and crank the brightness all the way up.

Step 4: Once you have done both the situations, turn auto brightness on and your device will be better adapted to changing brightness in your surrounding.
