How to Delete Old Backups from your iCloud Account

iCloud was recently voted as the best cloud service of 2013. Yes it can be a bit eccentric but one thing with iCloud is that it works more than most times. If you purchase a new Apple device you are entitled to 5 GB of space in iCloud. However, for most of us with multiple devices on the same Apple ID or big backups this space is not sufficient.

In this situation you are left with no other option but to upgrade your iCloud account which could be expensive. However, the easier option is to delete out backups that you do not need. These usually are the backups of devices you do not have currently. To do the same, follow the steps below:

Step 1: in your iOS running device, go to the Settings app.

Step 2: Click on iCloud there

Step 3: Scroll all the way down and click on ‘Storage & Backup’

Step 4: Click on ‘Manage Storage’

Step 5: Here you will see the devices that you have backed up to iCloud. The device with their names will appear. For the devices you do not need, go ahead and click on it and scroll to the bottom where you can easily delete the backup and gain some valuable storage in iCloud to help you save more files.
