Google recently updated it’s privacy policies. The new policies will go live from November 11 and yes, we very well know that nobody really reads these policies very diligently simply because you cannot avail the services of Google unless you accept these policies. So, unless you do not want to be a part of the revolution of the Google Revolution then there is very little you can do about it. No wonder, when you saw these policy changes, most of you must have just clicked on ‘Okay, Got it’ and proceeded with work.
However, what most of you would have missed out is that Google has sneaked in a line which allows them to use your profile image as well as key information in Google Ads. The way this is most likely to work is that on topics that you might have posted a commented on or +1’d on, ads related to those very topics will have your picture or profile information.
However, there is a simple way to opt out of this. You can simply go to Google’s endorsement page here and right at the bottom of the page, uncheck the box that allows Google to use your personal information and save. It is as simple as that to opt out from the Ad endorsements. We highly advice all our readers to go ahead and do this for their privacy sake.
