Let’s say you are sharing your computer with your sibling and both of you have Skype account and both wants to be online at a same time. Unfortunately Skype doesn’t allow you to run two instances at a time at a PC. However you can make a slight change in Skype shortcut properties to open a second instance of Skype on a same computer. Here’s how you can do that.
Go to program files folder inside C drive. Open the Skype folder Inside C:Program FilesSkypePhone you’ll find the Skype icon. Right click on it and send it to desktop by selecting Send to –> Desktop. A Skype shortcut will appear on the desktop.

On desktop, right click on the Skype icon and select click on “Properties”.

In the Skype Properties panel, click on the Shortcut tab. In the target field add /secondary next to the written text. The target looks like “C:Program FilesSkypePhoneSkype.exe” /secondary. Click OK.

Click on “Continue” button to continue.

That’s all. Now you can run second instance of Skype by clicking the Shortcut icon on the desktop. Note: Use the regular Skype shortcut to open the first instance.
