Windows 7 taskbar has some amazing features as users can pin programs to it, preview programs without maximizing it, jump list feature and slides icons to any position within it. But having more and more icons on your taskbar creates clutter which doesn’t looks good sometimes. To get rid of this problem there is a simple but affective tool known as HideIt that can send any open application on the system tray.
Go to the DeviantArt website and download the application which come absolutely free. Extract the application on a desktop (or anywhere you want) and double click on HideIt icon to run it. When you double click on the program, nothing will happen, it only opens the program and you can see the HideIt icon on your computer’s system tray.
Here’s how you can use this program:
On any opened application, move your mouse to the minimize icon which is present at the top right side of the program.
When you right click on the minimize icon, HideIt option will appear. Click on HideIt and boom! Your program will minimized and appear on the system tray. By using this method you can minimize as many program as you need.
Here’s the look of my system tray that has more than 5 programs in it.
That’s how you can send applications to system tray. The program is very small in size and very affective as it works instantly. Also you don’t need to install it on your computer.
