HTC Butterfly was a classic example of a good device being launched at the wrong time. The Butterfly was officially the first smart phone to rock a 1080 P display, but subsequent launches of HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S IV and Sony Xperia Z, doomed the device to a second tier level it certainly did not deserve to be at. The Taiwanese giant is now set to release a sequel to the HTC Butterfly by the name HTC Butterfly S. The device is set to be launched in an even on June 19th in taiwan. We expect the device to be launched in other Asian countries shortly after that.
However, if you are curious about the HTC Butterfly S, then, you can catch the glimpses of the device in the leaked images of the device. It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep a device secret and has become sort of a norm to leak out shots before the launch date.
Some of the rumoured specs of the HTC Butterfly S are as follows:
- 5 Inch, 1080 P True HD Display.
- Dual Front Facing Speakers
- UltraPixel Camera
- Qualcomm Snapdragon S600 Processor.
It is also possible that the device may remain an Asia exclusive and not be launched in Europe, if this report is to go by. We saw with the HTC Butterfly too, it was rebranded as the Droid DNA and launched just on Verizon Wireless in the US, so it would be no surprise to see the Butterfly S follow a similar route.
