The HTC M9 has definitely not hit the highs of the highs that HTC had expected. It is also rumored, that it was the lukewarm reception of the flagship device this year, which prompted a senior management change at HTC too, with Peter Chou being demoted in the hierarchy of the organization. It looks like HTC is in a hurry to right the wrongs that it did and therefore barely twenty days after the release of the M9, another invite has poured in seemingly for a device called HTC M9+.
From the image released, the invite is set to take place in Beijing on April 8th, and has been given the moniker More than One. The image in the artwork shows a device very similar to the HTC M8 rather than an M9, with a circular camera module, brushed Aluminum unibody construction, with single tone as well as the return to the dual camera setup.
The device is expected to bring a Quad HD display with 5.2 inch screen, Snapdragon 810 SoC or MediaTek MTK 6795 SoC and 3 GB of RAM on board. The device will have a 20 MP rear camera and also rumored to have a new fingerprint scanner in the front on a new home button. It may well be that the M9+ is the actual flagship product of the year and not the M9, or it could well be that it is a half-baked product, put out there quickly to cover the crack on the HTC image that the M9 may have caused.
