HTC has brought a plethora of devices to India as it aims to boost sales in all the segments. Most of these devices have been announced internationally so their arrival was more than expected. The surprise launch was the HTC M8 Eye, which is basically the same phone as the HTC M8, though with a 13 MP regular camera instead of the Ultra Pixels unit that HTC has been propagating for a while. Other than the camera, the specifications of the M8 Eye are exactly like the M8, but the biggest surprise is the price, as the M8 Eye is priced at Rs 38,990, much lower than the HTC M8 with Ultra Pixel Camera.
HTC also announced its new camera, called the HTC RE. RE is a handheld camera with a 16 MP sensor and a 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor. It has a battery in the range of 820 mAh and comes with inbuilt BLE, Wifi and Micro USB built. It would be available exclusively via Snapdeal for Rs 9,990 in November.
Other than these two, HTC also announced the Desire Eye, a selfie focussed smartphone. The Desire Eye comes with a Snapdragon 801 SoC and has 2 GB RAM and on board storage of 16 GB. The display is a 5.2 inch Full HD display and the phone has a dedicated 13 MP camera units on both front and back. There is a dual LED flash on both sides, while both cameras can record in 1080 P. The rear camera though is a f/2.0, 28 mm lens, the front unit is f/2.2, 22 mm wide. The Desire Eye will be available exclusively on Amazon.
HTC also announced the Desire 516c Dual SIM for India. The device will cost Rs 12,990 and will be a Snapdeal exclusive product. It comes with a 5 inch qHD display as well as a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor. You get Blinkfeed too, for all your news aggregation. There is 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB ROM on board with a 5 MP rear camera. The battery here is a 1950 mAh.
The last set of products to be announced were the HTC Desire 820q and 820 dual sim. The HTC Desire 820 will cost Rs 24,990 while the Desire 820q will sell for Rs 22,500, and both the devices will be available during the diwali season with retailers. The only difference among the devices is the SoC. The Desire 820 is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC while the Desire 820q comes with a Snapdragon 410 SoC. Both of them are based on 64 bit architecture. The two devices have exactly the same specifications, including an 8 MP front camera, 13 MP f/2.2 rear camera and a 5.5 inch 720 P display. Both the devices support a Dual Nano SIM and have front facing boomsound speakers with a 2600 mAh battery. The internal memory is 16 GB while the RAM on board is 2 GB. Both the phones, also have a micro SD card slot for expansion. The Desire 820 and Desire 820 q will be available in several colors including Marble White, Tuxedo Grey, Santorini White, Milky-way Grey, Tangerine White, Saffron Grey, Flamingo Grey, Blue Mist, and Monarch Orange.
