HTC Releases Desire C: A New Low End Smartphone

Just a few days after the first FCC clearance images of the HTC Desire C had emerged the giants of smartphone business, HTC have announced a new low end smartphone Desire C. The device is primarily aimed at those who are looking at cheap entry level Android smartphone, yet want all the goodness on some of the higher versions of the HTC powered phones such as the One X and S.

The phone would set you back by about 13,000 INR which is roughly around 200 Euroes. The device is expected to be in the European market by the end of this month. It would compete against the other entry level Android smartphones such as the HTC Explorer and the HTC Wildfire. However, what sets it apart is the fact that phone would ship with ICS 4.0 on board as well as Beats Audio Integration. It does seem like now though that HTC would be looking to incorporate Beats in just about every handset.

The screen on the phone is a rather small as compared to other massive devices measuring about 3.5 inches diagonally with a resolution of 320×480. The phone would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 600MHz processor with 512MB of RAM on board. HTC Desire c has 4GB on board memory with a 5 mega pixel shooter on the back with an LED flash. There is no front facing camera on the device, however, it would ship with about 25 GB free storage from the popular cloud service Dropbox.
