If the news reports are to be believed, then the days of the Nexus lines of devices are being numbered. It is pretty much confirmed that the Nexus 5 would be the last Nexus smartphone and would be ultimately replaced by the Android Silver line of devices next February. This week, there was an interview with one of the executives from LG who did confirm that they are not working on the next Nexus device yet.
While it is confirmed that there would be no Nexus phones, the future of Nexus tablets in not clear. So far, the last two Nexus 7s have been produced by Asus which Samsung brought the Nexus 10 almost two years ago. Since then, there was a Nexus 7 refresh last year and the mummers around Nexus tablets have been fairly quiet. HTC have been thought to be making the next Nexus tablet which is somewhere in between the 7 and 10 inch form factor.
This week, there were some leaked specifications and images of the HTC Nexus tablet called Volantis. According to a post on Android Police, the tablet will feature an 8.9 inch display, so the tablet would be more of a successor to the Nexus 10 than Nexus 7. The tablet would run the Nvidia Logan 64 bit processor and 2 GB of RAM. The tablet will have an Aluminum unibody construction with an 8 MP rear camera.
The rumored specs according to the report are:

- NVIDIA Logan 64-bit processor (Tegra K1)
- 2GB RAM
- 16/32GB internal storage
