InstaURL is a new Cydia tweak for the iDevice that lets you quickly run a Google, Yahoo!, or Bing search or access any desired URL, from anywhere on your device, via a simple Activator gesture.
Once you set your Activator gesture, and launch InstaURL, you’ll get a pop-up box where you can enter either your search terms or a URL. Next step is to Press ‘Go’ and Mobile Safari will load your search or URL.
InstaURL sounds like an awesome, convenient, time-saving tweak but it isn’t. Why? There is a big reason behind it. InstaURL can’t access your Mobile Safari history, so each time one wants to use this tweak to access a website one needs to type in the full URL, and to be frank it’s a huge pain.
One may be able to execute Google searches seconds quicker than you would if you just launched Mobile Safari and searched normally, but that is not something you would want to pay for?
If you think it is then InstaURL is available now for $0.99 in the Cydia Store. There are no new icons added to your SpringBoard with this tweak, and you can set the desired Activator gesture right in your main Settings.app.
To install this tweak you need to follow the steps given below:
- Open Cydia on your jailbroken iphone.
- Let the data load.
- Once the data is loaded go to search and type in “InstaURL”.
- It’s free in the insanelyi repo, IHR and bitemyapple repo.
- Select it
- Install it.
- Respring or reboot your device.
- You are done to use it.
