Kill Your Multitasking Application Instantly With KillBackground on iPhone

Apple was heavily criticized initially when they did not include multitasking in the first few generations of the iPhone however, it was later added. Yet for the older devices such as iPhone 3G and 3Gs multitasking came with the problem of too background applications which would eventually hang the device or make it extremely sluggish. So, here is a solution to this problem in the form of a tweak called KillBackground.

KillBackground is a free Cydia tweak for jailbroken iDevice’s which lets the user close or “kill” all of all the multitasking backgrounded apps Drawer instantly. You can invoke KillBackground by turning on the optional kill switch in the settings or by setting a desired activator gesture.  Zephyr tweak can also come handy while using this tweak. Just swipe up from the bottom and open your multitasking and kill the applications.

If you’re a SBsettings user there is the Remove Background SBsettings Toggle already available but unfortunately it is unstable for the iOS 5.0.1. Both tweaks are free to download and accomplish the same thing, so it’s really just a matter of how you prefer to kill your apps. If you wish to save your phone from entering into the safe mode download the KillBackground tweak.

There are no new icons added to your SpringBoard with this tweak and KillBackground settings can be configured in your main Settings.app.

To install this tweak you need to follow the steps given below:

  1. Open Cydia on your jailbroken iphone.
  2. Let the data load.
  3. Once the data is loaded go to search and type in “KillBackground”.
  4. It’s free in the IHR, insanelyi and sinfuliphone repo.
  5. Select it
  6. Install it.
  7. Respring or reboot your device.
  8. You are done to use it.

If you know any other tweaks similar to this one or any other tweak which you might think would be useful to iphone users please let us know.

Blogtechnika will not be responsible if your device gets bricked while using Cydia.
