LG has announced the keenly awaited LG G3 in India today. The device was unveiled by the superstar of bollywood, Mr Amitabh Bachchan and LG billed the unveiling of the device as a launch of a legend by a legend. Mr Bachchan spoke of the features of the device stressing upon the ability to take quicker selfies as well as the awesome 2K display.
A signature collection of the device bearing the signatures of the popular actor would be available in India. The device was launched globally in May 2013 and finally has made its way to India in both, the 16GB ROM and 2 GB RAM configuration as well as the 32 GB ROM and 3GB RAM configuration. However, the dealers we spoke to personally have said that the availability of the 32GB variant will outnumber that of the 16 GB version. The device will come pre-enabled to support the LTE bands in India. Both the, 2300 MHz and the 1800 MHz bands will be supported by the device. The LG G3 will run Android KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box.
The LG G3 in terms of specifications will come with a 2K display measuring 5.5 inches diagonally and has a 13 MP rear camera with laser AF for a clearer image. It is driven by a Snapdragon 801 SoC and features a Micro SD slot with a removable 3,00 mAh battery. There is a new Optimus UI on top of the device which adds to the whole aesthetic appeal of the phone with flatter icons and some interesting software tweaks. Lg also announced the LG G Watch, new flip covers as well as the wireless chargers for India at the event.
The 32 GB version of the phone would sell for Rs 50,990 in India. There will be special units bearing the autograph of Mr Bachchan, but only 15,000 of these will go on sale.
