LG has sent out official invitations to the media for the launch of it LG G5. As expected, the launch will be happening in Barcelona just a day prior to the Day 1 of the Mobile World Congress. LG’s launch of the G5 coincides with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which will also take place in Barcelona on the same day.
The launch invite in itself is fairly interesting and features what looks like a robot put together with different components. Thus, fueling the fire that the LG G5 is set to come with a ‘magic slot’ that would enable a few modules to be attached with the phone for added functionalities.
Not just this, the phone is also expected to come with a secondary display, which would be placed just above the main display for secondary notification or tickers, a bit like what we have seen on the LG V10. The primary display is expected to be a 5.3-inch Quad HD panel, which will have Snapdragon 820 underneath it to supply it with power. The phone is rumored to be sporting a metallic build, which would put it in the premium smartphone category. The announcement is expected to start at 16:00 CET on February 21st and we will share with you a live stream, if one is available.
