Micromax FunBook Tablet Review

We are surely being ushered into a Post PC era and with this ushering we have come across plenty of choices and different devices to play with. Android and iOS seem to be going heads on once again for the Operating System of choice for tablets. On April 6th, the team of Blogtechnika were¬†privileged¬†to be invited for the product launch of the Micromax FunBook, a tablet solely aimed at the young generation. The tablet comes at a cheap price of about Rs. 6500 and truly stands to its tagline, ‘ pass bhi hoga, timepass bhi hoga’.

The Technical Specs of the device are definitely interesting. It ships with a 1.22 GHz Cortex A8 processor and a Dual Mali-400 GPU. It is the first tablet running ICS 4.0 from out of the box.

The screen is a pretty 17.78 cm and supports multi touch and pinch to zoom. There is only a front facing camera which is a .3 VT camera and no secondary camera at the back.

The Funbook comes with an internal memory of 4GB which can be expanded upto 32 GB which is surely handy. The media playback is well supported with an HD Video and some of the most famous codecs such as MPEG, AVI, WMV and MOV all supported.

It does have the Gravity as well as and Accelerator sensor for turning controls. The only downside to it seems to be a rather short on power 2800 mAh batter which we shall await to see how it responds.

The device has a very handy connectivity with an HDMI out and Wifi Connectivity. There is no inbuilt 3G or Data usage technique.

For our views about this device and a quick hands on, here is the video from the launch itself.
