There has been one way and that is down for the Lumia range of smartphones, and no we are not really talking about the market shares, even though a case for that may be made. We are talking about the launches of smartphones in budget category from the Redmond-based company. Microsoft, still feels odd to say that, has announced the Lumia 435 and 435 Dual SIM as the two most affordable Lumia devices till date.
Both the devices take major cues from the horribly failed experiment that the Nokia X and Nokia XL were. The Lumia 435 and 435 Dual SIM, as expected have exactly the same specifications other than the ability to add two active SIM cards on the Dual SIM variant.
The devices have a 4 inch WVGA screen and are powered by a Snapdragon 200 SoC with Windows Phone 8.1 on top with Denim Update. The Denim Update brings features like folders as well as Cortana on board so it is definitely the device with all the latest goodness at least from a software standpoint. The battery on the device is rated at 1560 mAh and the phone has a 2 MP rear camera on board and a VGA unit on the front. The Lumia 625 is priced at about Euros 65 which is approximately Rs 5,600 putting the device in competition with the likes of the Moto E and RedMi 1s. It is expected to roll out in markets in February.
