Microsoft Mobile has announced the next device in their budget category in the form of the Lumia 540. The device has been launched at the price point of Rs 10,199 and is going to be a successor to the Microsoft Lumia 535. The 540, just like other Lumia devices has a very curvy feel to it and comes in a plethora of colors for the audience to pick up from. The back shells can be changed, which means that you can pick and change the colors even when you have purchased the phone. Largely the device will be available in black, cyan, orange, and white colors.
In terms of software, the device runs Windows 8.1 with Denim update, though it is a certainty that it will be upgraded to Windows 10 when the same is ready to be released. The Lumia 540 is powered by a Snapdragon 200 series SoC which is a Quad Core chipset. The rear camera is an 8 MP unit while the front facing camera comes with a 5 MP sensor with wide lens for better selfies. The Lumia 540 is a Dual SIM smartphone.
In terms of internal memory, you get 8 GB out of the box, though there is a Micro SD card support up to 128 GB plus 30 GB of space on OneDrive. The RAM is 1 GB and the phone is equipped with a 2200 mAh battery.
The device is available for pre-booking offline and will be available with all the channel partners of Microsoft both online and offline.
