Starting off as an android sync and backup solution on the desktop and moving towards a standalone alternative marketplace to Android Play Store, Mobogenie has come a long way. The set of softwares have seen a rapid growth in the last year or so and Mobogenie announced the next version, or Mobogenie v 2.0 of their Android application yesterday at GMIC in Bangalore.
Among several announcements, Mobogenie announced that they are updating their App only store so far, to a full content market place with EBooks, entertainments, apps and games on offer to download. Mobogenie announced that with a global installation base of almost 440 million and a penetration of 29.8% among the Indians, Mobogenie is the second largest app store on Android after Google Play.
Some of the new features are:
- Better exploration and indexing of apps & categories
- Clean, neat and easier to use design
- Built-in memory cleaner
- Localized interface with 30 languages support
- Gamification of user community
- Enhanced security for downloadable content
As a way to thank their users, Mobogenie has also introduced a gasification or a reward programme called ‘My Tasks’. This section has ten basic tasks everyday such as signing into the app, commenting or reviewing or downloading apps, which enables you to earn points as well as bonus points. These points can then be redeemed for coupons as well as other attractive offerings. Mobogenie told us off record that they are also planning to bring some offline gifts and partnerships to make the section even more exciting for judicious users. Downloading every free app including the likes of WhatsApp and Twitter and the rest gives you free points that can be encashed, giving users a great incentive to download from Mobogenie.
You can download and try out the next version of Mobogenie by visiting their site right here and installing the application.
