Motorola is making a comeback and in a big way. We had covered an earlier report that there are rumors of a new budget phone from Motorola called the Moto G earlier here. And the early leaks seemed to be very accurate as the device was indeed launched yesterday in an event held in Brazil which certainly was a very interesting choice of venue.
The device in several ways remind us of the highly successful Moto X. The smartphone is aiming at the consumers who are in for a budget smartphone but do not want to let go of high end specs. The device comes with Vanilla Android 4.3 and soon will be updated to Android 4.4. The device has a 4.5 inch display that is a 720 P Display. The backs on the device are removable though the battery is not. You can choose the shell you like to make the device personal. The device has a 329 PPI making it a fantastic display for the size.
The SoC on board is a 1.2 GHz Quad Core SnapDragon Processor where the GPU is Adreno 305. The device comes at a killer price of $179 without any contract which is huge. There are no headphones included in the box which is a part of cost cutting. The device will release in US and India in Jan and we could expect the device to be around Rs 13,000 which would be killer.
