Almost 7 months after its global launch, Google Nexus 4 seems to be landing in India finally. After the Samsung Galaxy Nexus did not even make the country, nobody had a lot of hope for it’s successor the Nexus 4 to be sold in India. However, the popular online electronic goods site Flipkart has now listed the device for pre order for a whopping Rs. 25990 for the 16 GB version.
Although a good news, we are finding it very difficult to get our heads around this. Without a doubt the Nexus 4 is one of the best smart phones in the market and the price sounds good, but what you need to realize is that the device is available for $349 which comes roughly around the Rs. 19,000 mark. And since the device is pretty old now the specs too are outdated as compared to the high end devices like the Galaxy S IV and HTC One.
It is also worth noting that the Google I/O kicks off just in about another 6 hours and we may see a refreshed Nexus device and that in itself makes recommending the Nexus 4 at this point of time pretty close to impossible. No doubt it is still an amazing device, but those who wanted it have already got one from the United States where it is easily available.
You can pre order your device here and can expect the delivery in 4th week of May. There are 3 and 6 months EMI options available till May 31st. However, we recommend all our readers to hold their horses, and see what Google has in store at the I/O later on and then think about buying the Nexus 4. If you know someone who is living abroad, definitely get an unlocked version from there instead of spending about 6k Rupees extra here.
