No iPhone 5, it’ll be Just iPhone 4 with Some Minor Changes

All those rumors about the fancy and stunning iPhone 5 might well turn out to be just rumors. Latest speculations say that iPhone 5 won’t be coming out this year, only iPhone 4S will. A number of analyst have been already posting that there is no sign of redesign from Apple’s supply chain and there will be minor updates in the new version of iPhone.

According to Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair there will be no major changes in iPhone 4S. This is what he said:

“We expect the focus of the new iPhone will be iOS 5, a speedier A5 processor and a higher resolution 8 MP camera with a small possibility of a larger 4 inch screen.

“We believe the casing will be largely similar to the iPhone with some particular modifications to the antennae [sic]. We don’t expect a second, dramatically different iPhone to accompany this as we don’t think Apple needs to have 3 models in the market to address the high end, mid-tier and low end since the iPhone 4 (with memory lowered to 8 GB) will drop to $99 and effectively attack those markets.”

Actually, there has been no real evidence of the changes rumored in the iPhone 5. We have just been shown some of the cases and nothing substantial. Genuine components are yet to be seen in open which possibly suggest that there won’t be any major changes.

Although images with A5 processor and similar chassis as iPhone 4 have been seen which support the new reports of no major update.

If Apple is coming up with an 8Mp camera, A5 chip and iOS 5 then there is hardly anything new for the users. iPhone 4’s camera of 5MP is decent so the 8Mp update is not actually needed. IOS 5 update will roll out for iPhone 4 anyway and it is pretty fast even without the A5 chip. So why would someone buy an iPhone 5 who is already under iPhone 4 contract? Is apple going the iPad 2 way? The amount of changes occurring in Android phones and Android OS will become too much to handle if Apple continues to go with minor changes.

Half of the world owns an iPhone and almost everyone is under iPhone 4’s contract so the company should do something to make sure that people are attracted to the newer version.
