For those who have updated their iPhones, iPod Touches or iPads to iOS 6.1.3 and were hoping to someday read that a jailbreak for the said OS version is available, then you are out of luck. It seems like dev teams that are responsible for the development of jailbreak have already given up the current iOS version saying that all the hard work is not worth it and they will wait for the next major update before getting their hands dirty.
Although, the next update is expected to be a vastly improved and changed iOS 7, we are not exactly sure if Apple would leave too many loop holes for the dev teams to ake advantage of. There has already been quite a uproar about how Apple has not taken the security of their consumers seriously and it could well be that iOS 7 is when Apple makes some radical much needed changes.
To confirm that no work is currently going on on a jailbreak pod2g tweeted this from their official Twitter account when asked if they are working on a new jailbreak:
@xld2s59 we are not working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak, that would be too much efforts for a minimal update. We’re waiting for a major release.
Having updated all our Apple devices to iOS 6.1.3 we are disappointed that the dev community has decided to not support the latest version but you can definitely see the reasoning. Oh well, here is hoping we do get the jailbreak when the next major update does come out.
