We are pretty much done with all the major smartphone launches this year. The year to look forward to now is 2016, when the next set of flagships will be revealed. While we are all set to drown in the Christmas theme for a good while now, there are several mobile OEMs that are busy printing out the CAD files for the renders of the next smartphones.
The work must be frantic, because as early as January next year, usually with the CES the first set of flagships start to appear. Looks like OnePlus has taken the failure of OnePlus 2 seriously and are already hard at work for the next phone.
According to a rumored render, the phone will ditch its characteristic Sandstone back panel for a more metallic look, this time around. The render also shows that there would be no finger print sensor on the device, raising questions that it could be the first phone to bring the immersive touch that we have seen Qualcomm talk about in the past, where the touchscreen is capable of recognizing your fingerprint. There is also a speaker grill on the front, moving away from the bottom grille design. The phone is expected to bring Snapdragon 820 SoC with it.
The phone seems to have, what looks like about 5.5-inch display with 1080P resolution as mentioned by the source of the render. There are dual LED flash at the back just above the OnePlus branding. The phone has been caught in two color variants, a black one, and a silver version. It would be interesting to see how true these renders are and what does the OnePlus Three eventually bring when it comes out.
