OnePlus was pretty vocal about their failure when it came to the OnePlus Two. The phone has been plagued with several software as well as hardware issues along with the long-standing issue with the availability of the phone thanks to the invite system. In order to cater to that and to enter a new market, which is that of smaller smartphones, OnePlus has been teasing everyone with a new smartphone that would be taking their smartphone lineup forward.

It would be incorrect to say that the new phone is expected to do a repair job on the OnePlus Two as it was pretty clear from OnePlus that 2016 will see two new devices from them. The second device is expected to be called the OnePlus X or the OnePlus Mini and would be unveiled to the media on October 29th. The news was confirmed on the social media channel of OnePlus. The launch event is set to take place at several locations, including New Delhi, New York, San Fransico, London, Beijing, and Jakarta.
In terms of the specifications, the phone is expected to come with a 5 inch Full HD display powered by either Snapdragon 801 SoC or Helio X10. In terms of memory, the phone is expected to come with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory with support for Micro SD card. It is also expected to come with IP 67 rating and finger print scanner. The camera is expected to be a combination of 13 MP on the back and 5 MP on the front. The OnePlus X is expected to be priced below the $250 mark.
