Samsung Announces 16 MP Camera Smartphone called Galaxy S4 Zoom

It’s raining devices, and Samsung is perhaps raining the hardest. So get ready for yet another new Samsung device. In their unique attempt to marry Camera to smartphones, Samsung have announced yet another iteration to their Galaxy S4 range of devices, and it is called the Galaxy S4 Zoom. The device basically aims to compete against devices such as 808 PureView and other camera centric devices like Lumia 920 or even the legendary N8 to a lesser extent. What is for sure is that it will not match up the likes of 808 PureView.


The device is basically a mediocre smartphone and a mediocre point and shoot camera. The Camera specs include 10x Zoom with OIS. The megapixel count stands at 16 MP. There is a dedicated Xenon Flash on board as well. The focal length of the camera measures between 24-240 mm, lens size is 35 mm and the aperture size varies from f3.1 to f6.3. The front facing camera is a 1.9 MP sensor. On the phone side of things, the screen size measures 4.3 inches diagonally and has Super AMOLED, 960×540 resolution screen. It is powered by a dual core 1.5 GHz processor. The phone will run on Android 4.2.2.

There is 8 GB of internal storage as well as expandable storage via MicoSD. The device is powered by a 2330mAh battery.There are usual Samsung proprietary Software add ons. The device is expected to be first released in UK and Europe later. People in US will have to wait till forth quarter for the device. There was no word on the price point of the device.
