Just as we were alluding to yesterday that LG may well be bringing a smartphone with curved display, looks like Samsung have jumped that queue and bought a device of their own. The Samsung Galaxy Round is a device like no other we have seen so far with flexibility that may interest some characters from the Matrix line of movies. Just before the reports leaking out from just about everywhere, Evleaks was once again on the spot with the first real picture of the device. Undoubtedly, this provoked several reactions from the people of the interwebs, and for what it is worth, there were more than one who were banging their heads on a table nearby seeing the design of the phone.
The device will be exclusive to the South Korean market for now, but be assured that it would be available globally very soon. Keeping the revolutionary display aside, the Galaxy Round has a fairly decent spec sheet. The device weighs only 154 g and houses a 2800 mAh battery. The Camera on the rear is 13 MP and there is goodness of Android 4.3 on top of 3 GB RAM, all powered by a 2.3 GHz Quad Core SoC.
Samsung have claimed that with a curved display on the Round, the people will be able to interact with the screen in a whole new way. You can tilt the display to check out the battery life or information of your missed calls and other things. Although the design of the device is straight out of the design books of Samsung Galaxy S IV, we certainly would like to hold and see how this Round feels, and if it really is sturdy enough to be considered a proper alternative or simply if it is another of those features that came and went and nobody winked an eyelid.
