We live in an era where a 4.3 inch smart phone is labelled Mini. Lord, please save us. But, this is exactly what has happened. A mini version of the runaway blockbuster Samsung Galaxy S IV device was always coming. However, there were rumours that Samsung may wait till it’s event that is scheduled in London on 20th of June to release the device, but little do we know. Samsung has already made the Samsung Galaxy S IV Mini official. And yes, it rocks a 4.3 inch display.
The other key specs of the device include 1.7 Ghz Dual Core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 MP Camera as the primary shooter. The device runs the latest Android version 4.2.2 and also has some interesting apps such as S-Health which were so far available only on the Galaxy S IV. The screen as mentioned measures 4.3 inches, and sports a qHD resolution. This is a Super AMOLED display instead of the Super AMOLED HD display as seen on the Galaxy S IV.
Pretty much all the features of the Samsung Galaxy S IV will be found on the mini variant, as looks like only the hardware specs have been pulled back a little. The device will be available in two colours at least initially, in Black Mist and Pebble White. From the outside, the device looks exactly like the S IV, and unless you know your tech stuff, there is a good chance you could mistake one for the other. The pricing and availability of the device is not known yet, but we expect to hear a lot more of the device in Samsung’s event on 20th of June.
