Samsung Announces the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at MWC 2015

The next Galaxy is here and it is as expected exactly the way every one of us had anticipated it to be. The two devices were leaked out very thoroughly over the internet in the build up campaign, intentionally or unintentionally from the company itself. However, unlike the last couple of Samsung Galaxy devices, the Galaxy S6 is an aesthetically beautiful device, which has received a lot of positive feedback from the media which is on ground having hands-on time with the phone.

The body of the two devices is made out of Gorilla Glass 4 and metal very much in the design philosophy of the likes of Sony. From the bottom, the device looks like an iPhone rip off with single side grilled speakers, micro-USB port at the bottom and the microphone with 3.5 mm headset jack. The curves too are very reminiscent of the iPhone.

The display is a 5.1 inch unit with 2K resolution and a Super AMOLED panel on board. The SoC on board is an Exynos 7420 octa core (2.1GHz quad core+1.5GHz quad core) paired with 3 GB of RAM to keep things buzzing along. The rear camera is a 16 MP unit (OIS included) with 5 MP camera. The battery on board is a 2550 mAh, though unlike every time before its a non-removable unit. The fingerprint scanner now detects your fingerprint without having to swipe, and you still have the heart rate monitor and a two-tone flash at the back of the phone. As expected, the phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and has a tweaked Samsung Touchwiz UI running.

The S6 Edge, on the other hand has two curved displays in the S6 body and has a slightly higher capacity battery at 2600 mAh to keep the power buzzing along. Rest of the specifications remain exactly as they are on the Samsung Galaxy S6. Both the devices are expected to make their debuts in the market in the next month.
