Samsung has finally announced the much awaited, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge at the Unpacked event at MWC in Barcelona. The devices will be the successor to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, the two devices which we may be looking back to being the ones to bring the Samsung train back on the tracks of success. The S7 takes everything that the S6 had and improvises it to what easily looks like the phone to beat this year.
The Galaxy S7 is a tad bit curvier than the Galaxy S6 and has a slightly lesser camera bump. The device has the same home button with fingerprint scanner as well as the heart rate scanner on the back as we saw on the Galaxy S6. On the front, you have a 5.1 inch QHD AMOLED panel. The phone will come with either Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820 chipset depending upon the market you are in. It is an old Samsung startegy where the North American market usually gets the Snapdragon variant while the APAC region usually gets the Exynos variant. On the memory front you have 4 GB RAM and 32 or 64 GB internal memory with Micro SD card support up to 200 GB.
Major improvement has come in the camera department with the rear camera being a 12 MP snapper with a f/1.7 aperture. The front facing camera is 5 MP with the same aperture. The battery features Fast Charging so you should have little problem with the 3,000 mAh battery. Samsung has made the device crazy light at only 152 grams. The Galaxy S7 edge has a couple of edge displays and a bigger 3600 mAh battery and the same internals as the S7. The S7 weighs 5 grams more at 157 grams. Both the devices will be available in the markets starting March 11th.
