Samsung is all set to take the wraps off the latest Galaxy flagship device in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S7 in Barcelona on February 21st. The launch will happen right before the much anticipated, Mobile World Congress, which is all set to take place in Barcelona from 22nd to 25th February. Given that pretty much everyone of importance in the mobile tech media will be in Barcelona, the timing of the launch makes absolute sense for Samsung.
It is expected, from the leaks that Samsung would be announcing not one, but a couple of variants of the Galaxy S7. Just like last year, Samsung is most likely to announce the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, and hold back the Edge+ version of the device for later.
The video teaser released by Samsung shows a man who is wearing a Samsung VR headset and is lost in a different world. We expect the phone to be strongly integrated with VR, given that seems to be the next big bet in the mobile space. The phone launch, will be streamed live on Samsung’s Youtube channel, like it is every year. In terms of rumored specifications, the Galaxy S7 will come with a 5.1-inch display, while the S7 Edge will come with a larger 5.5-inch display. The phone is expected to come with a 4 GB RAM, 12 MP rear camera and 32 GB storage in the base variant. The battery is expected to be 3,000 mAh and will have quick charging, which will allow 0 to 100% charge in 100 minutes.
