Samsung has been very active in the world of wearables. They were in fact, the very first brand to come out with a smart watch, when they announced the Samsung Gear way back, along with the Galaxy Note 3 device last year. Since then, several smart watches have come out of Samsung’s labs though for some reason or the other, they have never been huge blockbuster hits that the likes of Apple Watch or even the Motorola Moto 360 have been. Looking to rectify that, it has been revealed that Samsung will bring out a round dial smart watch, a bit like the Moto 360.
Samsung has revealed a sneak peek of their new wearable device which shows a round dial. JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics said: “Samsung has actively adapted its approach to wearable device development as the leader of the rapidly developing category. Through meaningful and progressive innovation, Samsung welcomes to developers and industry leaders to join this open collaboration effort to enrich and create unique user experiences for a new smart mobile life.”
Samsung promised that they would open the SDK to developers even before they announce the watch so that the devs can come up with apps for the smartwatch well before the launch. The developers can register at this link to know more about the SDKs as well as information about the watch and its release date and specs.
