Send large files to friends using Kicksend

Email clients like Google, Yahoo, Hotmail have improved in terms of the size of files you can send through them. But there is always a limit to how large a file you can send suing these clients. Kicksend is an easy tool which allows you to send large files to your friends easily.

All you have to do is visit the website http://kicksend.com/ and login using either your Facebook account or any other account of your choice. After that all you have to do is select the files to send, enter the email address of the recipient and wait till the site confirms that the file is sent and it’s done!! But be aware that the app allows a grace period of 15 days before the file is deleted from the server.

Due to browser restrictions, the web app limits the file size to 150 Mb. So it is preferred to download the desktop application that can be downloaded from this link: http://kicksend.com/apps.

The desktop app uses Adobe Air to install. Once installed and after you have logged in, you can send large files to your family and friends without any limitations.

The app also saves your contacts once you have entered them so you won’t have to enter the address again and again. This is a really cool tool and as the app is still in its early access phase, you can upload as many files as you like.

  1. Binfer is a great option to send large files directly from person to person, without uploading to a server. You can send hundreds of files of any size with a simple drag and drop. Binfer will manage the transfers with auto resumes, encryption, notifications etc. Check it out: http://www.binfer.com
