Can’t say we didn’t see this coming. The day that Google Now was announced at the Google I/O, we knew it was stacked up against the benchmark setter Siri. If you missed out our covering of What Is New In Android 4.1 JellyBean?, well Google Now is Google’s answer to Siri(Yes, there was Google Voice but its better this time round).
The video below is a great demonstration of these two voice search giants battling out full on against each other. And? The clear winner is Google now. Its absolutely years ahead of Siri. The reviewer says that Siri makes the results look better. I disagree. I think Google does a better job and its saves the searches so you can always go back. Also Google Now sounds more human like and did we say that its lesser steps.Google Now can also determine a users favourite sports team based on their searche history and give real time updates.
So which one is the better one for you? Well, each to its own. One hard choice and one could always fight it out.
I feel sorry for Samsung. Quite recently they launched their much awaited Galaxy SIII. It came with its own iteration of Google Voice called S Voice, and it was set the GSIII apart from the sheep. But Google has come along and completely blown it out of water. We can only hope when Jelly Bean finds its way to GSIII, S Voice will be scrapped in favour of Google Now.
