Take it as first steps or signs of how seriously Apple is taking the accessories market, or just a plain simple admission that they screwed up with te battery life, but Apple has released a power jacket for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. Another way of looking at the move is that, perhaps, Apple would now get away by making the next generation of iPhones
10 AM Pacific Time, the giant black curtains will give way to the massive stage with the Apple logo where Tim Cook will walk out and give us a detailed rundown of the big numbers that Apple did in the year gone by. This will be followed by a couple of videos of people detailing how good it feels to use an Apple product and a video of the state of the art Apple store that was built in the year gone by. You guessed it right, its the Apple event tonight and we are really excited. The event is expected to be the launchpad of the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus as well as a new iPad Pro and Apple TVs.
The event as always will be liveblog-ed by several top media outlets who will be in the attendance at the event. If you are not making it to the event like us, then you can follow the event live here.
As always, you will need to be on a Mac with OSX 10.8 and above or an Apple manufactured mobile device running iOS 7 and above to be able to watch the stream live at the link we have shared. Also, for the very first time Apple has decided to include Microsoft in the game as you can watch the event by logging to the link on your Windows 10 machine on Edge browser. The event will start at 10:30 PM for those of you in India and go up to about 12:30 PM. You can also go ahead and add the event to your calendar at the link we have shared above.
The numbers have spoken and the giant of the industry has once again exuberated the immense power vested in itself by claiming unprecedented figures. Before you lose the track of what we are trying to say here, the giants of the industry obviously refers to Apple and the numbers here are the pre order numbers of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Last week it was revealed that Apple had set a new milestone record with the pre order number of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. However, what was not known was exactly how many iPhones were ordered as the device went on sale at the weekend. However, the initial impressions from social media was that a lot of people were left frustrated at not having been able to pre order the device of their choice and therefore took to the platform to hit Apple with rants and F-bombs. However, that number looks like it was definitely a minority as Apple has officially confirmed that 4 million iPhones were pre ordered in 24 hours.
The announcement came from Tim Cook himself who said, “Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”
The phones surpassed the record of 2 million pre orders for iPhone 5 and are expected to ship to the ones who pre-ordered them on September 19th. However, due to shipment issues there will be a sizeable number of people who will have to wait for the device maybe even as long as till October to get them. Majority of these are said to be iPhone 6 Plus which is scantily available.

It was bit of a shock when Apple listed that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus would be available in India starting September 26th. if this information would have held up, it would have meant that this would have been the very first time that the iPhone would have come to India within a week of going on sale in the United States, which is on 19th of this month.
It was surely too good to be true, and like they say, if it is too good to be true, it probably is and fair enough the date was further extended barely 12 hours after first going up and the site said that the device would now be available starting October 17th. Again, this was not all that disappointing, given that the release was now slated for within a month of the US launch.
However, shames that even the October 17th date has now been taken away and you can expect the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to hit India in about 6 weeks time after the US launch, which has usually been the case with the iPhone 4, 4s, 5 and 5s if we are to go by trends. This means that the device will be available somewhere around first week of November, which exactly coincides with the time last year. Unless obviously, Apple has a nice Diwali surprise for us, just like last year.
Apple finally lifted lid on what was perhaps the poorest kept, yet the most anticipated secret in the tech world recently. The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus were announced at an event held in Cupertino. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, both ditch the one hand usability theory that Apple had been propagating till today. The iPhone 6 features a 4.7 inch display while the iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 5.5 inch display.
Both the iPhones will run on the newly designed A8 chip with M8 co-processor which now has a barometer as well along with the previous capabilities which would help you measure the distance you travel as well as pressure variations. Due to the larger displays, the entire springboard and the corresponding apps can be used in a landscape mode along with the standard portrait mode. Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have the fingerprint reader or Touch ID integrated.
Both the phones are also NFC featured which would allow them to enable wireless payments which Apple introduced via Apple Pay. The Apple service will allow the users to scan their cards and enable payments with just one touch. Apps such as Uber, Groupon as well as offline partners such as McDonalds will be able to utilize this service at 220,000 locations. The API of Apple Pay will be made available to the third party devs too.
Remarkably, both the iPhones are thinner than the iPhone 5s, which along with the iPhone 5c will continue to sell. The iPhone 6 will have a resolution of 1334×750 while the iPhone Plus will have a resolution of 1920×1080. Apple claims the new displays have higher contrast ratios, better viewing angles and better touch response. The camera on the devices is an 8 MP, with each pixel measuring at 1.5 microns and a new f/2.2 aperture sensor. The new iPhones will be available starting 26th of September.
However, this was not all, Apple had one more thing up its sleep and it was the Apple Watch. The watch is expected to be at the forefront of the wearable revolution. As expected, the watch is exquisitely designed with beautiful coming together of Aluminum chassis and Sapphire display with bendable retina display. As we had expected, the OS running the Apple watch is totally designed from the ground up for the smaller display. The watch has a crown, which is basically a modified rotary dial that we see on the sides of mechanical watch, which is used to scroll or select apps or actions on the watch. You can rotate the crown or simply press it once to return to the home or long press to launch Siri. You have dedicated apps for the Apple Watch such as Maps, Fitness trackers as well as third party app support such as Pinterest, Facebook or Twitter.
There are plenty of watch faces and support for notifications to be displayed on the watch like you would expect on any smart watch. Apple has tried to reinvent the communication via the watch, as you can draw or simply send emojis along with text or voice messages to your friends. The watch will be available in six straps with three sizes. The watch will come in three editions for each strap, the Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sports Edition and Apple Watch Edition and starts at $349. The Apple Watch will go on sale early next year.
The most anticipated device of 2014, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus have just launched by Apple. The device will be available in US and other 8 countries on September 19th, 2014. India launch is not far behind. On Apple India page it is clearly mentioned that the phone is launching on September 26, just within few days after US launch.
On Apple India page it is mentioned that both the phones (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6) will be available. You may get these phones on contract basis with Airtel and Aircel network providers. It is still not clear that the phones will be available through contract basis only or we can see independent sale like we’ve seen in past.
It will be interesting to see the pricing of these phones. If Apple would like to keep the same pricing as we saw for iPhone 5s, then the most probable pricing for these phones will be following:
iPhone 6 (16 GB) – INR 53000.
iPhone 6 Plus (16 GB) ~ INR 60000.
Note: Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus price is not official yet. The above pricing is based on assumption.
Update: From the just updated Apple India website, we came to know that iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available in India from 17th Of October, 2014.
If you are a tech enthusiast then chances are that you have already marked September 9th in your calendar as the next Apple day. It is this day that Tim Cook is expected to take the stage in Paolo Alto and unveil the next generation iPhone as well as the very first iWatch to the world.
Both these d evices are expected to lead a revolution. The iPhone 6, cause it would be the very first time that Apple would be moving away from their theory of requiring the phones to be pocketable to larger sized phones which everyone seems to be drooling for, while the iWatch is expected to finally usher us into the era of wearables after plenty of failed attempts from the likes of Samsung, with jury very much out on Android Wear still.
Apple – Live – Countdown to the Apple Special Event. Wish I could say more. I hope you can join us. http://t.co/2Iudkgv8NW
— Tim Cook (@tim_cook) September 4, 2014
Very selected and cream of the media, as expected is invited to the event and mere mortals like me and you will be sitting in the comfort of our home and following the proceedings. For those like us, Apple has announced that they would be livestreaming the entire event. You will be able to see the event via your iPhone or iPad or Safari on Mac. To do that, simply follow this link. Currently the link shows a countdown to the event and will continue to do so till the event gets underway. Make sure you bookmark this post for September 9th so that you do not miss out on the action.
There have been very few products which have been anticipated as much as the iWatch from Apple. The device is expected to take the lead and usher us into an era where wearables are acceptable without them looking like computers strapped on the wrist. We all expect the iWatch to do what basically, the iPhone did to the smartphone market all those years ago. And the remarkable thing is, even in this day and age, where there are no secrets, nobody has a clue other than those Apple employees working on it, of how the Apple iWatch will look like.
The New York Times though while anticipating the release of the iWatch have revealed that they expect the device to have a curved display, a bit like the recent Gear S that we saw from Samsung and also to come with NFC on board which would help pair the device to the next gen iPhone, called the iPhone 6 for communication. It would be via NFC that you would receive your notifications as well as other alerts on your wrist, if the report is to go by. The report also states that the iWatch will come with some sort of wireless charging to help you reduce the burden of carrying around multiple chargers.
It is expected that the iWatch would come in two different sizes and configuration, most likely one for males and the other for the females. The fact that these details were revealed by the nYT days before the launch definitely make us believe there is an element of truth in it. Guess we will eventually found out all on 9th September.
Apple’s launch events are unlike any other launch events. There is an air of class and sophistication filled in the room and you have some of the most amazing brains in the tech industry on stage talking about products that usually become matrix for measuring success in the shelf life of their existence. Several keynotes, like the most recent iOS 8 one, iPhone 4 one and even the original iPhone launch were probably the best examples of product keynotes done right. And Apple is set to take the stage once again on September 9th, in what we will presume is the launch event for iPhone 6 and an iWatch.
There were speculations and well informed sources such as Re/Code had already speculated that the next Apple event would be on the 9th of September and that was proved correct after Apple handed out the invitations yesterday to the cream of media for the launch. The event is set to take place at Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, which happens to be the exact place where the Mac was first announced by Steve Jobs. We wonder if there is a connection there especially given the muted idea that the iWatch is on the way.
The invite in itself does not reveal much, its a plain white background with partial Apple logo visible with lettering, ‘Wish we could say more’ on it. We are not sure, how to interpret that, and it would be futile second guessing Apple right now too. So, might as well wait and watch, what is in store for all of us.
The iPhone 6 is just around the corner. So close that probably each one of us has by now seen the device and its potentially accurate render, giving us a fair idea of what the final deal is going to be. We have a fair idea of the screen size, maybe even the camera and the aesthetics of the device, yet one of the things that we do not know enough about is the internal specs of the device, the RAM it would have and what would be the configuration of the A7 chip that would debut with the device. It is sure that the phone will have 64 bit chip.
According to this report in 9to5mac a new schematic of the A7 chip has been revealed which shows that the A7 chip will work exactly the way that A6 was working, though with an extra functionality. The same report says that the schematic shows the chip will be able to communicate with the external set of accessories, which was not the case with A6. The motion sensing features will continue to be supported here. It is being speculated that this external communication is key to the way Apple wants to sync its iWatch to the smartphone.
No way will we see the codename Phosphorus on the marketing pages, but it definitely would be interesting to see the teardown of the A7 and what is it new that Apple has done with the chip of the device as it is next to impossible to find all that is new from just the schematic diagram.
