We all know that servers needs cooling. This is the reason why company spends huge amount of money in data centers to keep the servers cool. We have seen cases where Google uses ocean water to cool its data centers. The latest addition in the list is Intel who are experimenting a new way of cooling system, submerging the entire server in oil.
No, these servers are not special servers and oil is not a normal oil. Intel is using mineral oil as coolant. Also this oil is safe for server and it doesn’t affect the hardware. This cooling process is a result of year long experiment done by Intel with with immersion cooling equipment from Green Revolution Cooling. This method provides more promising cooling than other cooling process. Also the cost factor is low as there is no need of extra electricity to cool data centers.
