It was expected that when Yu Televentures, a sister venture of the Micromax Mobiles, announced the Yu Yunique at a media event earlier this month, that another smartphone will be on show. This phone was supposed to be the high end smartphone which would have competed against the likes of Galaxy S6 of the world, but to the dismay of a lot of people, the device was not launched at all. It was whispered around the event, that Yu wanted to hold the device back and give it a whirl that it deserves. Looks like the time for the big monster from Yu is around the corner and it will be called Yu Yutopia.
BGR India is carrying a story quoting a source working on the project that the brief given to the team was to create the ‘World’s most powerful smartphone in India’. Rahul Sharma, the CEO of Yu Televentures also tweeted confirming the presence of the monstrous phone saying that he cannot wait to unveil the ‘Real Beast’.
The Yu Yutopia is expected to be made available for sale on Diwali and as a result, the launch could well take place anywhere between starting and mid of October. In terms of specifications on board, the Yutopia is expected to run Snapdragon 810 SoC, come with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of memory with 4K of RAM. Another version of the device is expected to come with 3 GB of RAM and 1080P. The Yutopia is expected to be the first smartphone from the labs of Yu Televentures that would be above the Rs 10,000 price point after all their smartphones so far have been around that mark. It is expected that the Yutopia will be running CM 12.1, just like all the Yu smartphones out there.
