Some may call it misplaced priorities for the OEMs today, but fact of the matter is that making the slimmest phone possible is where the competition today is. Gionee started this game with its crispy thing Gionee Elife S5.1 and was beaten by Oppo with their R5. However, that barely lasted and the phone has been replaced by the Vivi X5 Max as the slimmest phone in India.
With just 4.75 mm thickness the Vivi X5 Max has practically taken definition of slim to a whole new level betaing both Gionee and Oppo and no without compromising adding a 3.5 mm headset jack as the device comes will all that you would want at least in terms of basic hardware needs. The phone is priced at an extra ordinary price of Rs 32,980. The phone has a 1080 P true HD display and runs on an all new 64 bit Snapdragon 615 SoC with 2 GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The device has a 13+5 MP camera setup on board and while specifications look great, there remains a question mark on how the performance of the device will be given the optimisation end of the story.
The device will run on a custom Android skin and will be available for sale offline. The phone will be heavily promoted on Network 18 channels such as MTV, VH1, Colors and Comedy Central. The Oppo R5 too is expected in the market soon for a price of about Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000.
